This piece of fan mail shows how taylor's actions towards a cancer patient affected a fan positively. the fan was asked, by taylor, to be her "date" to the country music awards (cmas). prior to attending the event, however, the fan became ill and could not attend. this letter shows how the fan appreciated what taylor did and what she did in reaction to the fan becoming ill.
Dear Taylor,
Hello! This is Bloom S. Berg (your BIGGEST fan), and I was just writing to you to let you know what an inspiration you are to me! Being one of your biggest fans, I keep up with your musical work as well as your work and achievements in the community. The story that I am writing to you about now is about Kevin McGuire. I LOVED hearing about your reactions and actions towards Kevin! Let me start by saying that I think it is AWESOME that you offered to take this lucky guy as a date to the CMAs. That is a chance of a lifetime to anyone and to take another fan of yours (not as big as me of course) is just incredible. I was so happy that this opportunity came for Kevin as well because of his cancer; he had something to look forward to and something to fight for. I was really devastated though when he had fallen ill right before the event. I think you were totally awesome though for one, not taking another date (that would have just crushed Kevin) and two, mentioning his absence while accepting your award! I know if I were Kevin I would probably melt over the fact that you, TAYLOR SWIFT, mentioned my name over national television! I just know that that probably helped Kevin get right back up on his feet. Even though I already thought you were incredible, this act of kindness just made you so much better! Keep up the great work and hurry make another CD soon! Love you always Taylor!

Dear Taylor,
Hey there! This is Justin Thyme writing to you about your recent actions towards the school for the deaf in Boston. I have a sister who is deaf so this whole situation was extremely powerful towards me and my family. I know you are not an avid believer in bullying and will do anything to put a stop to it, and for that I respect you more than most celebrities. What these voters did is downright cruel. No one should receive a pity vote because people think it’s funny that a deaf school entered a contest to have you come to perform for the students. I appreciate you recognizing that there was bullying occurring and for giving each student within the school a ticket to your upcoming concert. I also appreciated that you didn’t punish the other school that won the contest. I was ecstatic when I saw that both you and VH1 donated a large portion of money to the school’s music program as well. Everyone deserves to have equal lives, and just because they are unable to hear doesn’t mean they should be opted out of this amazing opportunity. I know this really helped my sister realize that she isn’t too different from other people just because she can’t hear. Thank you so much again and please keep actions like this going so others can see the impact that you have upon bullying.
With respect,
Justin Thyme

Dear Taylor,
Hey girl! This is just another one of your many fans, Jane Doe! I was just writing to you to tell you that I REALLY look up to you and your views on life. Just like you, I am a die-hard fan of the whole love game. It’s the same thing every time (as you already know); find someone, fall in love, all seems to be going well and then BAM you’re heartbroken. Most of the time I don’t know what to do, but after reading and viewing some of your interviews I think I’m starting to get an idea. I really think it’s great that you can openly sing
about your past relationships, I mean that’s what you’re known for. I think everyone else needs to realize that this is better than openly trash talking your ex. Most girls (and even boys) can relate to your music and I think that people really need to start realizing this. That bit ties in with the next part of why I admire you so much. With all of these people who don’t understand your view on music and life, there comes a lot of talk. I’m talking bad talk. I think it’s GREAT that you can just shrug the comments off. You don’t care if people talk about you; you just don’t want it getting back to you. This has really opened my eyes on how I should view life too. You are such a great role model and I am SO glad to be one of your fans. You are an inspiration to many so PLEASE keep doing you and keep up all the great work! Thank you so much Taylor!
Thanks for everything,
Jane Doe
