Interview with taylor swift on 86.9 husky talk
Hello and good morning! This is Chira Husky reporting live from 86.9 Bloom Talk. Here with me this morning is the lovely Taylor Swift. Good morning Taylor how are you doing this morning?
Good morning Chira! I’m doing fabulous and I can’t believe I’m finally making it back to PA being less than two hours away from my hometown of Wyomissing!
Wow that does sound fabulous! Tell me Taylor, what have you been up to lately? I’ve seen your face all over the news with this new album of yours. Can you tell us about it?
Of course! I just released my fourth album on October 23rd; it’s entitled Red and I am just in love with the whole CD. About 1.2 million copies were sold in the first week alone and I really cannot thank my fans enough for all of the love and support they have for me.
Yes, well Taylor I can tell you that I was one of the 1.2 million people, and I have to say that I absolutely love your CD. Now let’s start from the beginning. Tell us about your childhood; where you were born, how you became interested in music, what you did to become who you are today, etc.
My story isn’t THAT interesting. I was born on December 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. I grew up on a Christmas tree farm and loved every second of it. It wasn’t until I was fifteen that my family decided to move down to Nashville, Tennessee to help pursue my vocal career. My grandmother was an opera singer and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I was singing at local fairs
and festivals when I was ten, and then at the age of eleven I sang The National Anthem at a Philadelphia 76er’s basketball game. That was inspiring to me in that I finally knew that I wanted to become public with my singing. I started teaching myself how to play the guitar and songwriting when I was twelve. Like I said, my family packed up and moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee when I was fifteen. From there I tried to sign with recording companies. Unfortunately all of the record companies that I went to didn’t think I had enough talent at the time. I finally signed with Big Machine Records back in 2006 after I was heard at a café festival. I am so happy that all of this happened to me. The road to stardom has been a long drive but a learning experience in the end.
How can you say that that isn’t an interesting story!? It shows your determination and hard work and how giving up wasn’t an option for you. You know a ton of your fans look up to you as a role model; how does that make you feel? Is there anything you want to say to our listeners about this?
I am so pleased to know that I am a role model to close to a million people. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction knowing that I make someone else’s day a little brighter. I want all of my fans to know that I didn’t have an easy childhood. I was bullied during my school years, but I didn’t let that stop me. Never give up on your dreams and you will be just fine.
Truly inspiring…does this message have any relations to any of your songs?
Well, I would have to say yes! My song from my third album, Speak Now, entitled Mean is directed towards all of those who were mean to me in school. Most listeners know that I write a ton of songs about my ex-boyfriends as well. They are just such usable topics and I find it so easy to write songs about them. I also want my fans and listeners to know that no one can write your future but
yourself.
You realize that some of your listeners are unsatisfied with your lyrics? Some say that you only write about how you were damaged by ex-boyfriends. What are your thoughts on this?
Well to be honest Chira, I don’t really mind. Not everyone has to listen to my music. I know for a fact that I have thousands of fans who can relate to my music, and that is what matters the most to me. Why fret over someone who wants to be negative about someone else’s happiness. As long as I don’t have to constantly hear about this, I am completely fine with the talk.
That is so true! Can you tell us about your future plans?
Well you can definitely be sure that I will be writing songs so I can get my fifth album out! I’m hoping to hit the road for another tour as well. My last tour for Speak Now was just amazing. There were so many fans, and I could feel the love from every single one of them.
I’m sure our listeners can’t wait for that! I loved talking to you today, but that’s all the time we have for this interview! Thank you so much for stopping by and talking with me. It was a great experience for you to come and talk to me and all of the listeners here at 86.9 Bloom Talk! Thank you for stopping by and listening today; have a paw-mazing day!
